About the artistBorn in Styding, Denmark in the 1920's. Anna Maria traveled to New York city as an exchange student teacher in the 1950s where she married and began her long love affair with Middle Eastern Culture through her family, watercolors and extensive travels. Today at the age of seventy-six she resides in Damascus and spends her time writing and documenting her long life in these parts of the world. Anna Maria's optimism pours out into her hand made greeting cards, watercolors, letters and books that she creates for her children, To this date she has not chosen to publish her work but they turn up in the most unexpected places-- decoration on personal letters, hand- made storybooks of her childhood memories in rural Denmark during the German occupation, as well as creating illustrated children's books for her grandchildren scattered around the world.
